BCCC Florida Trip 2024

The Beebe's and Hugo's will be leading the club to the west coast of Florida in April of 2024.  We will update the agenda as we solidify our plans but for now we need to sort out where we are going to stay.

We will be camping at Holder Mine Campground near Inverness, FL.  It's reservable via Reserve America:   https://floridastateforests.reserveamerica.com/campsiteDetails.do?contractCode=FLFS&siteId=1343&parkId=1120172

Monday - Chassahowitzka River followed by Dinner at the Freezer.  This is an out and back so no shuttle!

Things to Know and Do Before You Go


  • Pack reusable snack, lunch and drink containers.  Some rivers will fine you for any disposable item - including wrappers
  • Download Google maps offline to cover area we will travel throughout week. If you aren’t sure how to do it, Google it 🙂. The itinerary will be posted to the BCCC website this evening. 
  • Don’t forget life jacket, paddles, sunscreen, bug repellent, hat….
  • A word to the wise: don’t pack your paddles jn your boat for travel unless you have a cover on the opening.  Ask us how we know 🤦‍♀️. 
  • Make sure you have logged into WhatsApp and have confirmed with Teresa that you are in the group text.  
  • Each day line up ready to go 15 minutes BEFORE departure time.  We WILL leave on time. Sounds strict but only way to make it work with large group. 
  • We will send out Google GPS links to all put in and take out spots in advance. 
  • Have cash on hand if joining us to eat at The Freezer Monday night for supper.  Don’t think they take credit cards.  
  • Watch WhatsApp throughout trip for any changes due to weather or other unforeseen events. You should turn on WhatsApp notifications.  Check the rectangle of knowledge (Google) if you don’t know how.  
  • Get ready to have fun!!
