The Current River is the most spring-fed of all the Ozark rivers. As a result, the Current may be floated at almost anytime of the year, particularly below Welch Spring. Due to the increase in size of the river and the frequency of motor boats below Big Spring, most canoe and kayak trips are made on the sections above Big Spring. River maps can be found here and here. Difficulty: Class 1 - suitable for all skill levels.
