Program Details

The class will begin and 8:00 am and end at 5:00 pm both days

All participants will need to be dressed in clothing that can be stained and/or damaged, as the

program is heavily hands on, and moulage will be used to promote training authenticity.

Participants will need to be prepared to be outside approximately half of the training hours,

regardless of weather conditions unless hazardous (storms or extreme cold/heat).

Participants should bring whatever items they commonly carry on their persons on a daylong outing doing their favorite outdoor pursuit, as improvisational concepts are an important aspect of this course.

All program supplies and textbooks (which become property of the participants) are provided

by Ozark Safety and Rescue Educators (OSRE) as part of the program cost.

Successful completion of the entire program will result in a two year nationally accredited

certification.

Food and Lodging

Participants are responsible for their own food and lodging.  Camping and cabins are available at the nearby Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park.  There is also a nearby Shelby Forest General Store that servers food.  Friday night is steak night.

The Bluff City Canoe Club (BCCC) is facilitating arrangements but is not conducting this training class. BCCC has no financial interest in the event. Fees collected during registration are passed through to OSRE. The ACA Paddle America Club insurance and waivers will not be used.
