Nov 20, 2018 we had 7 paddlers: for the Lost Swamp Trail section of the Wolf River: Barbara and I, Geza Varay, Debra Dowda (guest), Jim Gafford, Paul Beebe and Dory Liggett. The water level was good at almost 6.5 feet and it was a beautiful fall day. Jim provided an update on the Conservancy including some land acquisitions as well as expert guidance during the paddle.
As noted on the Wolf River Conservancy website, the land owner at the take-up charges a $5 parking fee per vehicle. At the suggestion of Jim Gafford, we minimized parking expense and relied on a single shuttle car for a a back-end shuttle.
We launched around 10 am as announced and completed the paddle in 3 hours including a 1/2 break at the halfway point. This left us plenty of time for a late lunch at the Wolf River Cafe in Rossville. Here's some
photos of the paddle.
