This year's North Fork/Bryant creek trip was attended by Charles and Cindy Neikirk, Rick Watkins, Allen Pearcy, Dale Anderson, Bethany Peel, Ross Mead, Frank Potter, Curtis England, Greg Bainer, Denise Fowler and her friend Amber.
Day 1 – August 23
Saturday’s float was on Bryant creek from the Sycamore access to Warren Bridge, a distance of about 8 miles. After a relaxed day of paddling, we all had dinner at the bar/restaurant at Dawt Mill. Denise and Amber had to leave that night so we were down to 9 boats for Sunday.
Day 2 – August 24
Sunday’s float was on the North Fork from Hammond Camp to Blair Bridge, about 10 miles with a few stops to rest and have lunch. Curtis and Greg left after the float, bringing the boat count down to 7.
Day 3 – August 25
Monday was a shorter float on the North Fork from Patrick Bridge to Dawt Mill, a distance of 5 miles. Being that it was significantly cooler that morning we weren't inclined to stop for swimming much though we did take a short hike to Althea spring at the put in. We were off the river well before noon.
Water levels were low but floatable. We did drag in a few spots, but it wasn't bad. Tecumseh gauge was around 2.65 feet. The sections we did weren't crowded at all, we only saw a few other paddlers on the river.
We saw lots of wildlife including deer, turtles, sasquatches, bald eagles, tiger sharks and blue herons.
